Privacy Statement

1. General information

Responsible handling of your personal data is a high priority for the EPAC/EACN network. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this legal notice. In the course of the further development of our website and the implementation of new technologies, changes to this legal notice may become necessary. We therefore recommend that you re-read it from time to time. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in accordance with Article 77 GDPR. We respect data protection, therefore it is kindly requested that you contact us first to try and resolve the problem and clarify the legal situation.

2. Legal basis

This website stores and processes data within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).

3. Data collection at a glance

Who is responsible for collecting data on this website?

Responsible for the processing activities is the EPAC/EACN Secretariat.

How is your data collected?

Contact form/newsletter, emails and other contacts.

Data that you willingly provide to us for certain purposes is processed as a result of your consent (e.g. contact catalogue, newsletter dispatch, etc.) and used exclusively for the respective purpose. The consent to process your data as well as the registration for the newsletter can be revoked at any time by sending an email to: secretariat@epac-eacn.org without affecting the lawfulness of the processing that had been carried out on the basis of your consent up until the revocation.

Server logs

Each of your accesses to this website is stored in a log file (server logs) for up to 3 months. The log file contains the following data:

  • IP address of the enquirer
  • Request details and destination address
  • Operating system used
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Browser type and browser version
  • Name of the file accessed and amount of data transferred
  • Date and time of the retrieval
  • Message as to whether the retrieval was successful
  • Page views and bandwidth
  • Search terms
  • Length of stay

This data is used exclusively to check system security. No personal evaluation, profiling or merging of this data with other data sources takes place. The data will not be passed on to third parties.

SSL or TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses an SSL certificate and TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. For this purpose, the browser you use must connect to Google's servers. This informs Google that our website has been accessed via your IP address. Google Web Fonts are used to ensure a uniform and appealing presentation of our online services. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer. You can find more information about Google Web Fonts at: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/, opt-out: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/.

For what purpose is your data collected?

On the one hand, the data is used to ensure the error-free provision of the website. On the other hand, data may be used to analyse user behaviour. If you have volunteered data to us (e.g. for the newsletter or via contact form), this data will only be used for the respective purpose (e.g. sending the newsletter, contacting you upon your request). Personal data will only be passed on or transmitted to third parties by us if this is necessary for the purpose of using or ensuring system security, the technically error-free and optimised provision of services, or if you as a user of the website have given your prior consent. As a user of the website, you have the right to revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.

Protection of minors

Persons under the age of 14 should not submit any personal data to us without the consent of their parents or guardians. We do not request personal data from children and young people. We do not knowingly collect such data and do not pass it on to third parties.

Regarding links to websites of other providers
